Detailed Itinerary

The workshop begins at 1pm on Thursday with a meet and greet, and then an introductory lecture. The afternoon is spent in the field shooting nature and wildlife, then shooting the landscape at sunset from a mountain.

Friday morning, we begin before first light. We arrive inside the park to shoot the fog and mystical light of early morning. We continue to shoot the landscape as well as wildlife and macro subjects until lunch. Following lunch, Paul will curate your photos into an inspirational session of classroom education and post-production technique. After siesta for lunch and lecture, we head back into the field to practice freshly learned photographic skills. The day concludes after sunset.

On Saturday we shoot one final sunrise, and we hone our new skills in the field until late morning. At lunch there is an image sharing where participants share their strongest images from the experience and receive constructive feedback. We will conclude our time of work and play over a slow lunch.

You won't want to miss this experience! $95 Non-refundable registration holds your spot. You will receive an email with more details about your workshop and an invoice with your remaining balance due in the weeks leading up to the workshop.

$95.00

Oh yeah, did we mention an in-depth, personal teaching session from Paul reviewing specific principles you learned during the workshop. This includes Lightroom and Photoshop editing techniques applied to your images from the workshop. You can go back to this personalized video time after time.

Testimonial

" A month ago I had a very real 'mountaintop experience' when I participated in Paul's Smokies Fall Workshop weekend. I went to the workshop with reasonably good experience taking nature pictures with my point-and-click digital camera, but very little experience using my new DSLR camera.

I was concerned that other participants would be so much more experienced that I would feel overwhelmed.  But that was a needless worry. Paul's workshop approach was inclusive of all levels of expertise, so much so that we learned both from Paul and from each other.

Paul gave us all the individual time and help anyone could want. But we were allowed to 'do our own thing,' too, and were shown how we could 'tweak' that and get even better results.

My expectations about the weekend because I admire Paul's work and style were that I would certainly return from the weekend with a few good shots at least. But I came home with over 200 images better than I have ever taken before.

Finally, I am NOT a morning person. But now dawn has a very real appeal I would have never believed. I definitely want to be part of another workshop with Paul. "
