Little Asa has not had an easy go of it. And his brave mother (pictured at image right) and father have gratefully received the assistance provided by Kathy. He has a very rare condition called Epidermolysis bullosa (EB). Children with this condition are called "butterfly children" because their skin is so fragile, and it will badly blister if brushed or even hugged in the wrong way. His mother, an outspoken advocate for butterfly children with Asa's condition, tirelessly wraps every limb on his body for nearly two hours each morning to prepare him for the day. I was so humbled to be invited into this intimate moment. After nearly half an hour to warm up to my presence, Asa returned to his assignment. When the light bulb went off for him, the room exploded!
